The Overview

"Ano GWA Mo?" (Filipino for "What's your GWA?") is a web-based General Weighted Average calculator built specifically for Holy Angel University students. It simplifies the tedious process of manually computing grades by providing an intuitive interface where students can input their subjects, units, and grades to instantly calculate their GWA — no spreadsheets needed.

How It Works

The application provides a straightforward workflow for GWA computation:

• Subject EntryStudents add their enrolled subjects along with the corresponding credit units and grade values for the semester.
• Automatic CalculationThe GWA is computed in real time using the weighted average formula — multiplying each grade by its unit weight, summing the results, and dividing by total units.
• Instant ResultsThe computed GWA updates dynamically as subjects are added or modified, giving students immediate feedback on their academic standing.

Technical Implementation

Built with Next.js and TypeScript for type-safe, performant rendering, the app uses React state management for real-time grade calculations. The UI is styled with TailwindCSS, delivering a clean, responsive layout that works seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices. The application is deployed on Vercel for fast, globally distributed access.
